More than 20 years experience
Mike McElya is the founder/ director of the Sunshine Drumming Company based in Frome, Somerset. Mike , originally from Chicago, has a theatre background and has been teaching drumming to young and old students for over 20 years. This includes 1 to 1 drum kit and African djembe drum tuition. Corporate team building, kids at risk and adults with learning disabilities.

Learn to play the drums
I have a unique way of teaching the drums. The student starts out by gaining confidence doing a warm up on the drum kit.
Then I incorporate easy to follow rythm’s while I play the electric guitar which makes you feel what it would be like to play drums in a band.

Mike is in two working bands Seize the Day and 50ft Queenie. Where he can be seen playing at Glastonbury Festival and the Green Gathering.
